Purpose

Self-delivering intelligent solutions based on innovation, research, and development.

How we Self-Deliver

At FM Conway, we are unique in inwardly investing in our vast resource bank of land, facilities, products, plant, and equipment for over 60 years. We self-deliver all of our services, providing in-house capabilities across the entire lifecycle of a project, from design and material production to construction and maintenance.

Operating our manufacturing plant infrastructure underpins our self-delivery model, providing clients, partners, and our own internal teams with security of supply and access to low carbon and high-quality recycled materials.

Our Self-Delivery Model

Our business model gives us enhanced control over successful outcomes and allows for a smoother and more efficient delivery across a range of services, enabling us to be agile in ensuring that resources are where they need to be, when they need to be there, and provide our clients with surety of supply, control, and delivery on any project.

Our model ensures that in-house expertise and senior management are deployed across the breadth of our services so we can achieve higher standards, lower costs, and efficient delivery for our clients and their stakeholders. We also directly employ local people, as they are an integral part of our growth, providing individual development opportunities and training.

Through early engagement, technical insight, and a commitment to resource efficiency, we help clients and partners to manage the lifecycle of assets, thus minimising the cost of construction and maintenance, and lowering potential risk.

Producing Greener and more Durable Products and Services Whilst Championing a Low Carbon Economy

Our materials portfolio is developed to deliver sustainable solutions to address the current climate emergency and meet the evolving needs of the construction industry.

Our commitment to materials recycling ensures we continue to push the boundaries of material innovation; and through testing trials, demonstrates that higher percentage of recycled content can be used in surface courses.

By leading the way in the use of sustainable materials, FM Conway strives for the reduction of carbon emissions and transport movements in the South of England; working towards the company’s pledge to achieve carbon net zero by 2045.

Being Resource Efficient and Protecting the Natural Environment

For over 30 years, we have pioneered sustainable construction activities that have ultimately led to a significant improvement in material efficiency, and we are recognised as industry leaders in the use of recycled aggregates.

We understand the environmental value of our land, and manage our estate as an environmental asset, restoring and protecting existing habitats and wildlife. We are proud to be building a richer, resilient, and more diverse environment.

We will measure bio-diversity initiatives across the business through:

  • Biodiversity assessments across our sites
  • Delivering net gain using Natural England’s biodiversity tool
  • Ensuring new biodiversity enhancements are considered at the start of new schemes
