Meet Josh Ward – The Face of Progress

Josh Ward, Area Production Manager in our Aggregates and Asphalt (A&A) division, knows the journey of progress better than most. Josh has over a decade of experience at FM Conway, and is no stranger to producing Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP).

This financial year, we have already achieved a higher overall RAP percentage thanks to our great people and continued investment. This result highlights the effectiveness of our plant operations and our commitment to maximising the use of our internal RAP sources.

Josh leads a talented team of 45 operatives, supervisors, and unit managers across four sites: Aldershot, Croydon, Erith, and Reading. Josh and his team work every day to:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient manufacture of high-quality asphalt materials
  • Deliver excellent service to our customers
  • Create a happy, positive environment where every team member can thrive

Josh’s story is a great example of the incredible talent we attract and nurture at FM Conway — and why investing in people remains central to our success. He’s passionate about supporting career development and recognises the strides FM Conway is making in rewarding and recognising its people.

As Josh explains:

A key part of this commitment is a strong investment in staff development. It begins with meaningful appraisal conversations that form the foundation for personalised development plans. These plans are supported by a range of training and development opportunities designed to help individuals grow into the best versions of themselves. In addition to long-term development, FM Conway places real emphasis on celebrating success in the moment. Each month, key performers across the business are recognised and rewarded through the company’s reward platform, reinforcing a culture where hard work and excellence are consistently acknowledged.

Watch Josh on film as he explains how smarter, greener operations are making a real impact across our plants — and why sustainability in plant operations isn’t just what we do — it’s how we think.
