At FM Conway, our passion is to always find a better way. We understand the importance of operating a sustainable infrastructure business that positively impacts society.
Recycling is in our DNA and we are leaders in our field. We think creatively about using and reusing materials from our projects and currently recover 98 percent of all construction materials and reuse 100 percent of all road planings.
We've developed industry-leading facilities to match our ambitions and can demonstrate to clients, both the environmental and financial benefits of the circular economy.
All operatives, machines drivers, lorry drivers, and management teams are trained in understanding our recycling processes, how they fit into our work, and how we can efficiently use resources to reduce our carbon footprint, minimise lorry movements and promote environmental initiatives.
Our recent investment of £7m in our vehicle fleet ensures that our fleet continue to meet the highest environmental standards, helping to improve London's air quality and supporting our many construction projects in the city.
Electric vans have now joined our fleet of vehicles. Working with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent we now have two electric vans that we hope demonstrate how zero emissions plug-in electric technology can play an integral role in sustainable fleets as we prepare for the introduction of London's Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in April 2019.
Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS)
SUDS limit, as far as possible, the volume of and rate at which surface water enters the public sewer system. This means that SUDs play a key role in ensuring that the sewerage network has the capacity to cater for population growth and the effects of climate change.
