The lining division of FM Conway works to bring first rate markings to new or replaced road surfaces. The division boasts seven two-man, twin boiler rigs and one single boiler rig which together lay more than 1,600 miles of lining annually.
Operatives can also lay more than 20 different road symbols, using either templates or freehand. Lining can be laid in three shades of yellow, white and red; widths can range from 50mm to 150mm.
The division also lays anti-skid surface dressings consisting of specially selected aggregates on approaches to traffic lights, junctions and pedestrian crossings.
The division, headed by Paul Padfield, is based at depots in Dartford, North and South West London and is a member of the Road Safety Markings Association (RSMA).
