FM Conway understands that resurfacing is an essential part of road maintenance and provides new surfaces that can tackle the worst that modern traffic and the city environment throws at them.
The resurfacing division has developed a ‘one-stop’ approach that cuts congestion, speeds up repair and reduces cost.
The division lays both stone mastic asphalt (SMA) and hot rolled asphalt; jobs undertaken are often between 10,000 and 15,000 sq m in area to depths of 30mm to 40mm for existing groundwork or up to 100mm for more substantial repairs. The majority of the division’s work is for local authorities in London.
FM Conway is working for a third of London boroughs. The division undertakes planing in-house, uses its own gangs and owns its own plant; at the same time it works closely with FM Conway’s lining division to cover the whole gambit of refurbishing Britain’s road network.
